Inquisitor Kill Team (Counts as Brood Brothers)

The Van Sternbach siblings, Celia and Solomon, was on a meteoric rise as Inquisitors in their own right, in the Holy Order, each being a powerful psyker in their own right, but also gaining influence, power and personal retinues.

Disaster struck, however, as Celia was accused of being a radical and heretic, on grounds of careless use of her psychic abilities. She was brought to trial and a torturous evaluation of her purity was deigned necessary, no matter the protests of her brother Solomon.
She endured many nights and days of physical and mental torture and cleansing, and finally judged as pure. However, she was but a shadow of her former self; her body was broken, several organs was beginning to fail, and her legs was so damaged that amputation was the only option. . Her mind was in shatters, and while she no longer was the pragmatic and razor sharp Inquisitor she used to be, she was still a very powerful psyker, and she had become even more zealous and ravenous in her desire to purge the God-Emperors foes, as a result of her purgatory ordeal.

Solomon had an enormous mechanical suit made for her, that could grant her her legs back, give support to her broken organs, as well as give her the strength to smite the heretics she desperately wanted to bring judgement to. She now lives only to destroy those that shy from the Emperors holy light, while Solomon still searches for a way to heal his beloved sister, if not in body, at least in mind.

I… Can’t… Stop… Building… Kill Teams!

I would like to have a Brood Brothers KT to play with, since their playstyle seems fun, and I haven’t really got any “chaff” teams, but Genestealer Cults aren’t really my thing - they’re cool and all, but don’t really speak to me. Then it dawned on me that pretty much all of them are perfect stand ins for a Inquisitorial retinue - which IS my thing!

The only model that caused me some pause, was the Patriarch, but I think I found a good solution with the female inquisitor-psyker, interred in a massive combat suit.

I hope you enjoy them. :)

Nobody expects the counts-as Inquisition!

Aaaaand... They're finally done!

Prologue:

I kind of like Strike Team Justian - but I already HAVE ONE Space Marine KT (my White Templars - Intercession). So I decided to do something different. Since I am knee deep in “Counts as”-Kill Teams already, I figured one more couldn’t hurt - right?

The team is lead by Ordo Malleus Inquisitrix Ivana Fyodorova (Captain Justian - her thunder hammer, Izgonját, represents the Power Fist). Probably 30-40 standard Terran years older than her looks lead one to believe, thanks to rejuvanat treatments, she is an experienced Inquisitor, who tirelessly hunts the Daemon and the Heretic.

Furthermore, she employs the Vindicare Assassin ‘Tarim’ (Eliminator) and a hulking brute of a close combat servitor, designation ‘Gedeon-527’ (Assault Marine), enhanced far beyond their usual combat capabilities, gifted to her by a Mechanicus Magos as a token of gratitude for banishing a cohort of data daemons many years prior.

Furthermore, she is joined by a retinue of 3 Astartes of the Exorcists chapter, who regularly sends aid to Inquisitors, due to their close bond to the Inquisition, Malleus in particular. These are Sergeant Lysos, Heavy Gunner Brother Asheras and Brother Daecath.

Painting them was a bit of a mixed bag - I've found a recipe for painting red, that I really enjoy (I cannot stand bright red, always been more partial to a burgundy tone), but the very clean Eavy Metal-esque style takes forever, and I'm not sure I really like the result as much as my usual, a little grimier style. However, the vials on the servitor and the active camo/cloaking effect on the assassin was lots of fun to try.

I hope you like them!

Inquisition Kill Team

I'm almost done with my Inquisition Kill Team (modelling wise of course) - and of course the Kill Team design team had to go and throw a wrench in the wheel with their balance dataslate!

It's all good, and maybe it was needed, but now I have to figure out if I replace the pistolier, give the servitor a heavy bolter or use a grenade launcher gunner Kasrkin. Decisions, decisions...

Anyway, I've grown a bit tired of the same old black cardboard background I'm using, so this post was mainly an excuse to experiment a bit with a new backdrop. I think I like it, but I need to let it simmer for a while.

I was really excited when news of a bespoke Inquisition team broke, but the excitement became kinda "meh..." when I saw the miniatures; for a Kill Team practically dripping in potential character, the miniatures are pretty boring. Oh well, luckily I love building stuff, so armed with a roster, I began dreaming up some characterful (IMO) models.

The main part of the Kill Team:

Servitor, Mystic, Interrogator, Death World Veteran, Pistolier, Questkeeper

(Kasrkin) Gunner, Vox-Trooper, Recon-Trooper, Medic, Sharpshooter
